Knocked this one out in about three hours. Pleased with the speed, but boy howdy do I need some gesture work.

Light Study and stuff

So I've been trying to be more efficient with my brush strokes, and I've gone into doing some light studies.

The first guy didn't go too well, but the second one was pretty good.

Also been reworkin' a concept. So far it's a great improvement over my attempt months ago, but the skin around her face doesn't look too convincing. Somehow I got her shoulder and lower left arm alright but her face just isn't workin'. I also feel her legs look a little small as well. I'll post more progress as I go along.

Not dead yet!

Sorry I've been a while. Real world life has been tough. Here are some things I've worked on though.

Guy took me about 6 hours to do. I need to be faster and work on my contrast, but that's what I get for working from white.

More guns

Developed a some of the silhouettes.
Did some weapon thumbs.
Which ones do you guys like?
I'm partial to 3, 4, and 12 myself.

Some works in progress for my demo reel.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

I cranked this busta out in almost a day. I had started at around 12:00pm with the first image you see and came out with the second one at around 9:00. And there was about 15 minutes of eating in between there. I think I might work some more tonight! I'm on fire baby!

DomWar Update

So it seems like the general consensus is to combine the J-Blade concept with the more punk concept. I've added the pauldrons of the punk concept as well as some buttons. I'm still debating on adding the straight out blades on the original punk concept versus the more rounded, slightly more aerodynamic looking ones.

I'm also going to be adding the toothy element to the bottom of her J-Blade attachments as well since I feel that will unify the design altogether.

I've also done some development on her Kusari-Gama. I'll likely be using the weight on the left since it has a more interesting shape.

anyway, this is coming along quite nicely. Hopefully I'll have this finished by thursday so I can start modeling over the weekend. It's a bit later than I would have liked, but I had finals, so there wasn't much I could do.

Back to Dominance War

Ah, now that my classes are over for the next week, I can get back to concentrating on DomWar. I cranked out two new concepts for my character, taking them in a new direction with the Kusari-Gama as a weapons instead of the crossbow.

These two were the most developed of the ones I started today, but I'm definitely liking the one with the J-Blades more. Thing is, I'm gonna have to check to see if those prosthetics are OK for Norms to have. They should be since there aren't any moving parts of electronics in there.

The second one I like 'cause it looks a lot more punk/biker, but in the end would be too noisy for stalker, what with all that metal. I think I'll be making a final decision on my concept tomorrow or Monday, after I get some more done.

Also, I'm a little confused as to what the highest level tech norms are allowed to use. I'm seeing some concepts that have sniper rifles, and even one that had a P-90. I'll have to ask when I make my post later.

Some stuff I did for a physics project

So the teacher I've got for my physics class is cool enough that he'll let us do whatever we want for our final project, so long as it has something to do with physics or science in general. I decided to put my concept art skills to the test and made three concepts of some famous names in science as fighting game characters, and I'm actually pretty happy with how the came out, especially with how fast I cranked them out (about 2 hours for each).

Later on I wanna do a whole series of eight that will include these three, Newton, Einstein, Hawking, Curie, and maybe Copernicus.

I just spent like 8 hours on this sucka, and I'm pretty pleased with it overall, with the exception that it looks androgynous. That frustrates me still. Maybe when I put a head on it it'll be more clear.

More DW Concepts

Did a few more versions of the face for my DW character, this time going for something more alien-like.

I'm pretty pleased with what came out. The one based on the rhino beetle one seems pretty popular, but I'm actually liking the one on the bottom right corner.

BG - Intro and Dominance War

Hey guys, just joined up.

Pretty much all I'm doing up to this point as working on stuff for Dominance War.

Here are a few of concepts I've worked on so far.

You can fallow my thread on it here.
